Friday Fun Video: Amazing Surfer Girl

Check out 13 year old Lucy showing off her mad surfing skills.  She’s not only got skills, but she must be one brave kid.  Seriously, I’m constantly amazed by all these kids who put their minds to doing such amazing things.  Way to go Lucy!

Friday Fun Video: Kiteboarding Wake Up Call

I must say, kiteboarding never looked as appealing as it does in this movie.  Cameron makes it look like a piece of cake here.  And not only that, a seriously thrilling piece of cake.  It’s official, kiteboarding just got added to my bucket list!

Friday Fun Video: Unicycling Adventures

Check out Luke and Andrew showing off their unicycling skills.  They take this sport away from nerdy and into the realm of TOUGH!  I especially love the hockey game – I guess this is pretty big in Telluride!  Thanks boys!

Friday Fun Video: Coyote Gulch Video

We had a great time in Coyote Gulch with the kids and already posted a few of the pictures here.  We also wanted to show a video to show some of the highlights of the trip with the kids.

Most of the shots are just of the kids playing, which is great, they loved it!  Kids make the whole trip fun by bringing a sense of wonder to the trip.

The background on one part is that Mason, after watching Dash from The Incredibles now has some “Water Shoes”, which he thinks he can use to run on water.  He kept showing us over and over again, until it didn’t work one time…  We also found a great hole that all of the kids hid in, built sand castles, played in quicksand, made echos in the canyon and watched the stars and saw the moon come up through Jacob Hamblin arch.  All in all, a sweet trip with the kids.

As a side note, one tradition that we do on many of our longer trips is to choose a theme song.  On this trip, U2’s “Beautiful Day” was the theme song and we listened to it each morning, a few times while driving, and a few times while hiking.  It makes the trip fun and now when we hear it, it brings back lots of good memories of the trip.

The only thing that we didn’t get much of in the video was the location – the amazing canyon that you get to hike through. So here was just one more illustration of what we enjoyed hiking through with the kids.

Friday Fun Video: 5 year old ski racer

Check out this video of 5 year old Adrianne ripping it up.  Sorry Mason, you’ve got nothing on this girl.  Watch out buddy because if you ever meet her, she’s going to waste you.  Don’t worry buddy, you’re still the most hard-core 4 year old I know (it’s probably because he’s really good at fighting bad guys).

Friday Fun Video – Coyote Gulch

Guess where we are right now (or at least where we should be).  Coyote Gulch in Southern Utah!  It’s going to be a killer trip with lots of great people joining us, including our niece’s (so we’ll have a 4,3,2, and 1 year old).  Here are some pics to give you a glimpse at what we’re seeing right now!

Friday Fun Video – Canyoneering with Kids

Some of the fun memories that I have from growing up deal with canyoneering.  It’s always a puzzle trying to get through the canyon, rappelling of the waterfalls, spidering along the narrows and swimming through the pools. Naturally, you can be careful with the situations that you put your kids into, but if you are comfortable, know what you are doing and your kids are adventurous, why not get them started early.  Just like this dad in this week’s video.

We are off to the desert to go explore some canyons with the kids next week. We are super excited for it.
